Cheraw, SC – The Cheraw community is mourning the loss of Chasity Mae Kinser, a dedicated ophthalmic technician at Carolina Eye Associates, who passed away earlier this month. Chasity’s life and career were marked by a commitment to helping others, and her presence left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Born and raised in Cheraw, Chasity was a graduate of Cheraw High School. She pursued her education in healthcare at Northeastern Technical College, where she studied phlebotomy. Her professional journey included serving as a phlebotomist at McLeod Health, and earlier in her career, she worked as a child care attendant at Kiddielane Daycare. In each role, Chasity was known for her warmth, professionalism, and ability to bring comfort to those around her.

Friends and colleagues remember Chasity not just for her work, but for her caring nature and infectious personality. Bo Hillian shared, “Chasity Mae Kinser was truly family and will truly be missed. Always came by to sit and talk with my mom when many family members didn’t. I will always remember my mom saying, ‘that’s one talking child.’ Please keep her kids, Jill, and her siblings in your deepest prayers. That lil woman sure could eat. Rest well, Gworl.”
Precious Wright reflected on the joy Chasity brought into the lives of those around her, noting, “Cherish the memories, pictures, videos, because when God calls us home, it’s all we have left. #braveheart #cheersisters. We had some memories! I love finding all these pictures from over a decade ago! Still praying hard for your family, my girl.”
Colleagues also remembered her courage and generosity, particularly in teaching and guiding others. One coworker recalled, “Chasity was the one who taught me so much about being in the air, always tried to take the fear away from me. You did everything so effortlessly, so flawlessly, with a smile that was contagious. I’m praying for your family and your babies, that God holds each and every one so tight during this time. You will truly be missed and remembered down here, my girl.”
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Chasity was a devoted mother and a cherished friend. Her family described her as a brave, loving, and vibrant soul, whose laughter and presence could light up any room. She leaves behind children, family members, and countless friends who are mourning her sudden departure while celebrating the profound impact she had on their lives.
Funeral arrangements and visitation details have not been publicly released at this time, but friends and community members are encouraged to keep Chasity’s family in their thoughts and prayers. Many are honoring her memory through shared stories, photographs, and remembrances of the joy she brought to everyday life.
Chasity Mae Kinser’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and courage will continue to resonate in the Cheraw community and in the hearts of everyone whose life she touched. Her dedication to her work, family, and friends remains a lasting testament to the person she was.
