A Bessemer man tragically died Tuesday evening after being struck from behind while riding his bicycle. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Christopher Darnell Jenkins, a resident of Bessemer. Authorities say the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on November 19 in the 200 block of Fairfax Avenue.
According to Bessemer Police, Jenkins was riding his bicycle when a vehicle struck him from behind. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and immediately contacted law enforcement.
